UPDATED Jul 24, 2026: On Jul 22 the campaign filed amended July and March reports adding $1.6M in previously unreported contributions and $1.4M in unreported spending; BOE records now show ~$11.4M brought in since the December launch, tracking with the $11M claim. Two caveats keep this from fully checking out: (1) when the claim was made Jul 13, the report as filed two days later fell at least $3M short, and the total was only substantiated after two amendments the campaign attributed to BOE "tech issues" the BOE says it is not aware of; (2) "raised" includes ~$3M transferred from Nassau/Suffolk party committees and ~$1.75M+ in public matching funds — direct donations since launch are roughly $5.7M. The topline number is now supported by state records; the framing still overstates money raised from donors. ORIGINAL (Jul 16): the BOE July periodic filing showed ~$3M raised since March, ~$4.1M total direct donations, and a ~$8M war chest — millions short of the claim as filed.

Originally circulated Jul 7-8 by an anonymous X account with no pollster, methodology, sample, or field dates. On Jul 12, a South Shore Press opinion column by GOP consultant Stefan Mychajliw attributed the 47-41 numbers to the Republican-aligned firm co/efficient (image credited "co/efficient"), so the earlier finding that no source existed no longer holds. However, co/efficient has published no official release, methodology, sample size, or field dates, and no independent outlet has verified the survey — the numbers remain unverifiable and do not meet the standard for inclusion as a poll. Every credible named-pollster survey in this window shows Hochul ahead by ~18-20 points (Siena, June 17-23: 52-32).
