Five-Status Framework
Every commitment Hochul has made — in her campaign, State of the State addresses, budget proposals, and executive actions — is tracked against five states: Kept, In Progress, Stalled, Broken, and Reversed. A status advances only when verifiable government action occurs, documented with a primary source. Announcements alone do not move a status.

Claims are rated True, Mostly True, Half True, False, or Pants on Fire. Each verdict links directly to primary documents — official budget tables, Comptroller reports, legislative records, court filings — before any secondary news coverage. We check claims from all political perspectives, not only opposition attacks.
Budget Analysis
Sourced to the Line Item
All budget figures trace to official sources: openbudget.ny.gov, the NYS Division of Budget enacted plan, Comptroller DiNapoli's fiscal reports, and the AIM/local-assistance tables. Regional rollup figures are built from school-aid-by-district, transit allocations, and AIM distributions — each figure sourced inline.

We log every EO from the official Governor's press-release archive. Impact ratings — High, Medium, Low — reflect scope of affected agencies and estimated population reach. Status (Active / Rescinded / Superseded) is updated when official notice is published.
Controversies
Pro and Con, Always Both
Every controversy entry includes supporter arguments and critic arguments, each attributed to named individuals or organizations and linked to on-the-record statements. We do not editorialize or signal which side is correct. Severity ratings (High / Medium / Low) reflect breadth of coverage in Tier 1 outlets.
Election Coverage
Equal Weight, Equal Scrutiny
The 2026 election page gives Hochul and her Republican challenger identical real estate, identical data fields, and identical source standards. Polling averages exclude partisan or internal polls. A nonpartisan disclaimer appears above the fold. This page sunsets after the November general election.
