Hochul announces new Great Lakes cruise terminal on Buffalo's Outer Harbor, targeting 2028 season
Hochul announced Monday (Jul 20) that construction is expected to begin soon on a cruise ship terminal along Buffalo's Outer Harbor, saying Great Lakes itineraries currently bypass WNY — she cited a cruise-line map at a Quebec governors' meeting showing ships going from Port Colborne, Ontario to Erie, Pennsylvania without stopping. Follows a June passenger cruise that made the first Rochester and Buffalo port calls in years. Terminal expected open for the 2028 summer cruise season. Second Buffalo announcement of the day alongside Marine Drive.
