Hochul and AG James sue Polymarket US, calling its prediction market an unlicensed gambling operation that pays no state gaming tax and lets 18-to-20-year-olds bet; the suit seeks an injunction, restitution and fines of three times its gains
Filed Sept. 24 against QCX LLC d/b/a Polymarket US, which launched in the U.S. in December 2025. The state argues its event contracts meet the legal definition of gambling, that it never got a Gaming Commission license, and that it sidesteps the taxes licensed casinos and mobile sportsbooks pay. It follows the state's July 2026 suit against Kalshi and the AG's April suits against Coinbase and Gemini.
