At a Kenmore roundtable, Hochul told Investigative Post her proposed end to data-center tax subsidies extends beyond the 2000 state sales-tax law to a "narrow exclusion" barring all 106 local IDAs from granting property, sales and mortgage-tax breaks to hyperscale (50MW+) data centers, targeting next year's budget.
