Hochul awards $38M to 49 county infrastructure projects tied to more than 3,200 new homes
Announced Aug 20 from Albany: more than $38 million to 49 projects in Round 2 of the County Infrastructure Grant Program, administered by Empire State Development. The program has now awarded more than $74 million to nearly 100 projects since its November 2024 launch. Grants run up to $500,000, or up to $1 million for projects supporting 10 or more housing units; the state says this round supports construction of more than 3,200 new homes. An additional $50 million for a third round is in the FY 2027 Enacted Budget. Relevant to the $25B/100,000-home promise, which stays in-progress — the state counts homes enabled, not completed.
