Hochul announces nearly $1B second round of the Sustainable Future Program under a new CHARGE energy agenda: $500M building decarbonization (EmPower+ $150M, affordable housing $150M, Clean Green Schools $50M, thermal networks $150M), $300M renewables (NY-Sun $200M, NYPA $100M), plus an Energy Infrastructure Development Plan with an interim plan due 2027

Climate Week announcement. Remaining funds: $25M municipal recycling/food waste, $25M climate-resilient farming, $12.5M urban forestry, $25M parks and public lands. The EIDP directs the State Energy Planning Board to produce an interim plan in 2027 and a first comprehensive plan by December 2029. The release packages existing items (the $1B energy rebate checks, data-center moratorium, 8.4GW nuclear initiative) under the CHARGE label; the new money is the Sustainable Future allocation and the EIDP.
