Hochul campaign spotlights Haitian TPS termination in Little Haiti visit, cites Office of Immigrant Trust
An Aug. 7 campaign release highlighted Hochul's July 30 visit to Brooklyn's Little Haiti with LG candidate Adrienne Adams and Councilmember Rita Joseph. Hochul criticized the Trump administration's termination of TPS for nearly 350,000 Haitians, calling the Supreme Court decision allowing it a tragedy, and pointed to the new Office of Immigrant Trust and the letters to 12 law-enforcement agencies requiring 287(g) agreements to end by Aug. 25. Campaign framing of existing state actions; the release did not name the 12 agencies.
